Dispatch Coordinator – Contract
Location: Remote
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Dispatcher/Flight Coordinator position is to review domestic and international trips for feasibility, provide crew support, and accomplish crew briefings, all while maintaining regulatory compliance and safety standards. You will act as a liaison between Clients and Crews, ensuring appropriate communication and coordination. This includes but is not limited to crew scheduling, flight following, providing weather updates, flight planning, briefing crew, ordering catering, and travel arrangements. The Dispatcher/Flight Coordinator will be required to work a varying schedule to support a 24/7/365 operation including on-call from home on nights, weekends, and holidays. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Ensure that company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations are adhered to.
· Make Decisions to ensure the seamless operation of the flight schedule considering weather, maintenance, personnel, NOTAMs, etc.
· Oversee the safe operation of the daily flight schedule.
· Act as the central contact point for pilots, company representatives, maintenance, and management.
· Log and track daily operations and compile reports for management as necessary, including aircraft maintenance cycles, if required.
· Work as part of a team to help the success of the operation during “high demand” times such as weather events, holidays, sporting events, etc.
· Identify, anticipate, and take appropriate action to minimize delays/downtime due to scheduling, crew issues, maintenance, or weather.
· Constantly monitor the status of flights, performing flight planning and following.
· Ensure all ground services such as fuel, parking, deicing, permits, customs arrangements, and slots are confirmed as required.
· Arrange catering, transportation, hotels, and other travel as needed.
· Assign flight crews, ensuring duty and rest times are scheduled to ensure optimal flight scheduling.
· Review aircraft maintenance statuses and ensure the aircraft can be dispatched.
· Always provide excellent customer service and display a helpful, friendly attitude.
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High-School Diploma or GED.
· FAA Dispatcher Certificate or the ability to obtain one within 18 months (about 1 and a half years) of employment.
· 3 years of aviation experience.
· 2 years of dispatch and/or flight-following experience.
· Thorough understanding of FAR parts 91 and 135.
· Ability to work a variable schedule to support a 24/7/365 operation.
· Must be able to exhibit prioritization of tasks in fast-paced, time-sensitive situations.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to sit and or stand for extended periods.
· Ability to function well in high-stress situations with limited assistance.
PHYSICAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Ability to assemble trade show booths up to 10’ x 20’ in dimension at times.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds at times.
